Measure the width of the window at three different points: top, middle, and bottom. Use the narrowest measurement to ensure a proper fit within the window recess.

Measure the height of the window opening in three places: left, center, and right. Use the tallest measurement as the final height to ensure full coverage.

Measure the desired width of the shades. The fabric will be narrower than the ordered width, so add 3 inches to the desired fabric width to determine the bracket-to-bracket width.

If the window has no trim, add 2-3 inches on each side of the window for light gap coverage and privacy, then measure between these marks.

Measure from the top of the window opening to 3 inches beyond the top to accommodate the mounting hardware. If there is a protruding window sill, start at the sill; if not, measure from 2 inches below the sill for maximum coverage.
